Airport Parking Directory - BOOK HERE
Manchester Airport serves the North of England and it is possible to get flights to and from the airport to many places around the world. The airport has a lot of passengers going through it and has decided recently to improve the parking facilities and work on the traffic congestion around the largest terminal, Terminal 1. This £2.5m plan means that from July it has been necessary to introduce temporary changes to the arrangements for short term parking at the arrivals section of the airport. For instance, vehicles with high sides may be unable to gain entry to the terminal 1 short stay car park, so will have to go in through the passenger collection zone. Three illuminated signs will direct all vehicles towards the short stay car park, and this is needed as part of the road around Terminal 1 arrivals will need to be closed whilst construction work is finished to create a passenger collection zone three times the size of before.
At the moment, Manchester Airport car parks hold over 14,000 vehicles in their short and long stay car parks. You are advised to stay in the long-term cat parks if you are planning to park for longer than 6 hours. As with most airport car parking, you can get good discounts should you book prior to arriving at the airport, although at Manchester the best discounts are for trips of longer than 8 days when you pre-book. There are three terminals and a free shuttle bus for both you and your luggage has been laid on from all car parks to each terminal.
Some passenger prefer to pay on the return of their journeys. The advice should this be you is to park at Premier Park should you be departing from terminals 1 or 3 and be travelling for more than 3 days. You should park in the Terminal 1 or 3 long stay car parks respectively should you be going away for 3 days or less. All people departing from terminal 2 should park in the Terminal 2 long stay car park.
Disabled badge holders can park in the designated areas in the
short stay car parks. These areas are next to the lifts in each terminal. Should
you be travelling for more than 7 days you are able to park in the short stay
car park at long stay rates, but you need to call 7 days before and provide
your dates of travel, car registration and the number of your disabled badge.
Should you need a wheelchair at the airport, this can be provided, but you should
request these when you make your holiday arrangements (i.e. as early as possible).
